HONOLULU -- SMU fell to Hawai'i, 58-57, on a last-second 3-point shot by Jovon McClanahan in the championship game of the Diamond Head Classic Christmas night.

Zhuric Phelps, who was named to the all-tournament team, led the Mustangs (5-8) with 20 points, while Zach Nutall added 15.

Bernardo Da Silva and Beon Riley each had 13 for the Rainbow Warriors (9-3). 

Noel Coleman hit a 3-pointer for Hawai'i with 1:41 remaining to pull the Rainbow Warriors within two at 57-55. The Mustangs had a couple free throws to extend the lead, but could not convert leading to McClanahan's shot after running the length of the floor.
