GREENVILLE, N.C. -- No. 8 East Carolina used a 5-run eighth inning to pull away from No. 9 Texas, 13-7, in the first game of the Greenville Super Regional Friday, June 10.

The Pirates (46-19) are one win away from reaching their first Men's College World Series, while the Longhorns fell to 45-20 on the season.

Bryson Worrell went 4-for-5 with four runs scored and two RBI, while Jacob Jenkins-Cowart drove in four runs. Jacob Starling also added three runs driven in. 

C.J. Mayhue (6-1) earned the win, allowing four runs in five innings, while Pete Hansen (11-2) took the loss, allowing five earned runs in four innings.
