WACO, Texas – The University of Tulsa volleyball team won two matches on Friday, sweeping McNeese in the morning before winning a five-set thriller over Sam Houston for the evening match.
 
In the first match, Tulsa totaled 54 kills, led by Kayley Cassaday’s double-double. She finished with 19 kills and 10 digs. The setter tandem of Avery Kalsu and Brayden Hipp paced the Hurricane with 24 assists and 20 assists.
 
In the second match, Tulsa hit .255 while holding Sam Houston to .181. Rowe Bailey (23), Cassaday (19) and Lauren Eitler (10) led the Hurricane attack in kills. Kalsu (31) and Hipp (25) paced the match with assists.
 
South Florida 3, Cornell 0 – Box Score
South Florida 3, Stetson 2 – Box Score
TAMPA, Fla.– The University of South Florida (6-5) swept Cornell University (2-5) to start off the Bulls Volleyball Invitational and claimed a five-set battle in the nightcap over Stetson (8-3) on Friday at The Corral.
 
In the first match, Marta Cvitkovic (Rijeka, Croatia) paced the team with 11 kills, followed by Tizi Puljiz (Resistencia, Argentina) with 10 total kills on a .429 hitting percentage. Amiree Hendricks-Walker (Los Angeles, Calif.) added seven kills with a scorching .545 percentage.
 
Puljiz and Hendricks-Walker posted four total blocks a piece during the match, followed by Ally Barnhart (Lenexa, Kan.) with three blocks.
 
Kelsey O'Loughlin (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) led the team with three service aces, along with Barnhart and Cvitkovic with two aces each, totaling eight service aces for the Bulls.
 
O'Loughlin tallied 29 assists as the USF floored 39 total kills.
 
CC Clausen and Selin Kalkan (Ankara, Turkey) led the back row with 12 and nine digs, respectively. Kalkan's nine digs are a new career high.
 
The Bulls won its second match of the day in Tampa, outlasting Stetson by set scores of 20-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-18, 15-9.
 
O'Loughlin posted her first double-double of the season with 32 assist and 14 digs. Clausen posted 17 total digs.
 
Andrade paced the team with 13 kills while Cvitkovic had 12. Puljiz and Hendricks-Walker had a total of 10 kills each with Hendricks-Walker also posting a new career high after hitting a .714 percentage.
 
Puljiz and Hendricks-Walker posted four total blocks a piece.
 
Clausen claimed two service aces while O'Loughlin, Andrade, Cvitkovic and Williams posted one service ace each.
 
Freshman Emma Santi (Ocala, Fla.) posted a new career high of six digs.
 
Memphis 3, Arkansas-Pine Bluff – Box Score

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis Volleyball (8-3) extended its home win streak to seven on Friday, sweeping both Arkansas Pine-Bluff and Central Arkansas. The Tigers have dropped just one set in their last five matches
 
In the win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Senior Gigi Crescenzo led the way for Memphis with eight kills on a .471 hitting percentage Sophomores Lexi Lewis and Jasmyn Tate each had a match-high six blocks. For Lewis, it was a career best. The Tigers 22 blocks were the most since 9/10/21 when they had 24 against Southeast Missouri.
 
In the sweep of Central Arkansas, Senior Gigi Crescenzo had a match high 12 kills and served up two aces against the sugar Bears
 
SMU 3, Arizona State 2 – Box Score
SMU 3, UTRGV 1 – Box Score
LUBBUCK, Texas – The SMU volleyball team picked up a pair of wins on Friday, defeating Arizona State in five sets before turning around and taking down UTRGV in four-sets.
 
In the win over Arizona State, Jamison Wheeler (18), Natalie Perdue (14) and Alex Glover (10) each finished with double-digit kills. Celia Cullen paced the match with 48 assists.
 
In the win over UTRGV, Natalie Perdue (18) and Marieke van der Mark (13) led the Mustangs in kills. Ceclia Cullen paced the matched with 33 assists, while Casey Battenhorst added 16.
 
Temple 3, Providence 2 – Box Score
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Temple volleyball team improved to 5-4 overall on Friday afternoon with their fourth five-set victory of the season by defeating the Providence College Friars, 24-26, 25-17, 14-25, 25-22, 15-11 on the first day of the Sheraton University City Classic at the Palestra.
 
Sophomore Taylor Davenport led the Owls offensively with a match-high 23 kills, while Jaaliyah Evans added a season-high 11 kills.
 
Magdalena Rogalska got her first start of the season and added a match-high 36 assists and three service aces.
 
The Owls last three wins this season have become of the five-set variety.
 
Cincinnati 3, Miami (OH) 0 – Box Score
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team dominated rival Miami (OH), defeating the RedHawks in straight sets on Friday night inside Fifth Third Arena.
 
Strong serving and relentless defense powered the Bearcats to victory. Cincinnati registered nine blocks, eight service aces and 44 digs on the night. Senior Payton Frederick led all players with a match-high 13 digs.
 
Offensively, the Bearcats hit a season-best .284 behind 33 assists from freshman setter Caroline Endres. Freshman Avry Tatum finished with a team-high 10 kills with only one attacking error on 16 attempts (.562) while sophomore Abby Walker put down nine kills to go along with three blocks.
 
Wichita State 3, Dayton 1 – Box Score
DAYTON, Ohio -- Wichita State hit a season-best .317 and got 21 kills from Brylee Kelly to down Dayton 25-22, 25-23, 23-25, 25-18 on Friday night at the Frericks Center.
 
The Shockers survived a season-high 15 service errors, a number matched by Dayton. Litzau dished out a season-high-tying 49 assists to go along with a team-high 13 digs, while Rohling hit a solid .320 with 12 kills.
 
Foster matched a career high with three aces and seven digs in addition to nine kills. Stout chipped in seven putdowns on just ten chances.
 
UCF 3, Kansas 0 – Box Score
LAWERENCE, Kan. – The UCF volleyball team picked up a huge sweep (25-22, 28-26, 25-21) against No. 23 Kansas on Friday at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.
 
McKenna Melville would top off her huge night with a kill to end it. It was her game-high 23rd of the night. She also added nine digs and six blocks. The Egan, Minnesota native is now six kills away from setting the UCF career kills record.
 
Claudia Dillon had a big night as well, putting up nine kills while hitting .667. Amber Olson continued to quarterback the Knight's offense to success with her 39 assists.
 
Virginia 3, East Carolina 1 – Box Score
Maryland 3, East Carolina 0 – Box Score
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – East Carolina dropped a pair of matches to Power Five opponents Friday, beginning the Virginia Invitational with a four-set loss to UVA and suffering a sweep at the hands of Maryland.
 
In the first match, Angeles Alderete paced the Pirate offense with nine kills while Kellyn Trowse added seven kills and 12 digs. Kenzie Beckham led all players with 15 digs to go along with a five-block performance from Kianie Cummings. Chloe Wilson put down a team-high 15 kills for the Cavaliers as one of four Virginia hitters in double figures.
 
In the second match, Alderete and Sophia Kruczko both collected seven kills to lead the East Carolina offense against Maryland. Beckham was tops defensively, notching 13 digs. Sam Csire knocked down 15 kills for the Terps to go along with an 18-dig performance out of Milan Gomillion.
