DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke quarterback Riley Leonard went 24-for-30 for 328 yards and two touchdowns as Duke took a 30-0 win against Temple Friday night at Wallace Wade Stadium.
Leonard's two touchdown passes came in the decisive second quarter as the Blue Devils turned a 10-0 after one into a 24-0 halftime lead.
Duke finished with a 500-179 advantage in the game, which saw both head coaches make their debuts with their new teams. The Blue Devils had a 25-12 advantage in first downs and won the turnover battle 2-0.
After allowing scores on four of Duke's first five drives, the Owls limited the Blue Devils to a pair of field goals in the second half, but Temple was unable to advance past the Duke 44-yard line until its final possession.
Temple quarterback D'Wan Mathis went 11-for-21 for 83 yards. Linebacker Layton Jordan had eight tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss.
