Temple, Tulsa, Wichita State Compete in Weekend Races

Temple, Wichita State and Tulsa cross country programs all competed in weekend action. Temple and Wichita State traveled to Minneapolis to compete in the Roy Griak Invite, while Tulsa competed at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
 
The Owls men team placed 10th overall in Minneapolis. Cole Rank came in at 50th place with a time of 25:13.5.  Graham Thomas was right behind him in 53rd place with a time of 25.14.6. The women placed 16th overall at the met with Elvira Bredin leading the pack with a time of 21.52.4 and a 47th place finish.
 
The Shockers finishd with 7th place on the men’s side and 17th place on the women’s side. Clayton Duchatschek led the way for the men with a 27th-place finish (24:53.6) in the 8K, followed by Ben Flowers, who passed 27 people in the final 3,000 meters to place 33rd (24:58.1). On the women's side, Abeba Sullivan and Sarah Bertry returned to racing after a week off and led the Shocker women through their first 6K race of the season. They earned the top two Wichita State finishes, placing 54th (21:58.6) and 95th (22:38.3), respectively.
 
Tulsa men finished in fifth place at the Cowboy Jamboree, behind the top four teams in the nation. Cormac Dalton finished in 12th place, navigating the 8k course in 23:39.7 to pace the Hurricane. Michael Power (18th) and Shay McEvoy (22nd) followed closely behind in 23:45.3 and 23:47.5, respectively. Layla Roebke paced the Tulsa women in the 6k race, placing 50th in 21:18.5 as the Hurricane finished 15th. Chloe Hershenow finished 20 seconds behind Roebke at 21:38.0.
