IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s soccer awards for the third week of the 2022 season.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Courtney Sebazco, Gr., M, SMU
Sebazco assisted on the game-winning goal and provided an insurance goal in a win over Stephen F. Austin on Thursday. She also had two shots against Oklahoma on Sunday.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Abby Sowa, So., D/M, East Carolina
Sowa and the Pirate defense kept clean sheets in a win over UNCW and a draw at VCU, allowing nine shots on goal.
 
GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Maeve English, Jr., East Carolina
English made eight saves in two matches this week, earning clean sheets in both contests. She had four saves in a win against UNCW and four more in a scoreless draw at VCU. English has now recorded four shutouts in a row.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Megan Smith, F/M, Cincinnati
Smith recorded her first two collegiate goals in a win over Stony Brook on Thursday. She also recorded a team-high three shots at Pitt on Sunday.
 
HONOR ROLL
Cordelia Cross, Jr., M, Houston
Cross scored an incredible goal from 40 yards out in a 3-1 win over Rice on Sunday.
 
Georgia Brown, So., M, South Florida
Brown scored the late game-winning goal in the 87^th minute in South Florida’s 1-0 win over UTSA on Sunday.
 
Julissa Cisneros, Gr., F, SMU
Cisneros scored the game-winning goal in SMU’s 2-0 win over Stephen F. Austin on Thursday.
 
Samantha Estrada, R-Sr., GK, SMU
Estrada recorded four saves in a shutout win over Stephen F. Austin and tallied five more in a 1-1 draw at Oklahoma.
 
Madison Tokarchik, Jr., D, Tulsa
Tokarchik scored the lone goal in the Golden Hurricane’s 1-0 win over Central Arkansas on Thursday.
