TULSA, Oklahoma -- Temple defeated Tulsa, 76-72, in the only American Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Tuesday night.

With the win, the Owls improved to 10-8 and 4-1 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Golden Hurricane fell to 4-11 (0-4 American).

Temple led 45-25 with 1:14 remaining in the first half before the Golden Hurricane went on a 22-0 run to take a 47-45 lead with 15:50 to go in the second half, but that was the last lead Tulsa would have as Temple pushed the lead back to 10 at 69-59. Tulsa cut the lead to three in the final minute, but that was as close as it would get.

The Owls were led by Zach Hicks, who hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points, while Khalif Battle added 13.

Bryant Selebangue led Tulsa with 19 points and 12 rebounds, his second-straight double-double.
