Five From The American On 2023 USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-America Teams

IRVING, Texas - Five players from the American Athletic Conference have been named to the 2023 USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-America teams.

Florida had three players selected - all to the second team. James Madison, which will compete in The American for the first time in 2023, had a pair of third-team selections.

The Gators were represented by the attack tandem of Emma LoPinto and Danielle Pavinelli. They were joined by goalie Sarah Reznick.

James Madison's selections included attack Isabella Peterson and defender Mairead Durkin.

Pavinelli was an IWLCA second-team All-America choice after a 2022 season in which she was named the American Athletic Conference Attack Player of the Year. Pavinelli led The American with 73 goals and 99 points and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2022 American Athletic Conference Championship.

LoPinto was an IWLCA third-team All-America selection as a true freshman in 2022. She was the unanimous choice as The American's Freshman of the Year after she scored 63 goals with 34 assists for 97 points, finishing second to Pavinelli in goals and points among American Athletic Conference players.

Reznick is a two-time American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, including in the 2022 season, when she led the league with a 9.48 goals-against average and a .480 save percentage. 

Petersen was an IWLCA third-team All-America selection in 2022 and was the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year. She scored 72 goals with 15 assists for 87 points, finishing third on the Dukes' single-season goals chart. 

Durkin earend second-team IWLCA All-America honors in 2022 and was the CAA's Defensive Player of the Year. She set James Madison's single-season record with 52 caused turnovers last season and also led the Dukes with 45 ground balls.
