No. 9 Memphis defeated East Carolina, 1-0, in a battle of the two division leaders in American Athletic Conference women's soccer action on Wednesday, October 11. 

Anna Hauer notched her sixth goal of the season when she sent a shot to the upper right corner from outside the box in the 36th minute to give the Tigers the 1-0 lead.

With the win, the Tigers improved to 11-1-0 on the season and 5-0-0 in conference play, while the Pirates fell to 8-3-3 overall and 3-1-1 in league play.
