Pratt Rallies Tulane Past Memphis, 31-21

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Michael Pratt rushed for a touchdown and threw a TD pass in the second half as Tulane scored 21 unanswered points to take a 31-21 win against Memphis Friday night at Simmmons Liberty Bank Stadium.

The Green Wave improved to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the American Athletic Conference with the win - its first victory against the Tigers in Memphis since 1998, when Tulane went 12-0. It ended a streak of eight consecutive losses to the Tigers in Memphis.

Pratt scored on a 1-yard plunge with 4:32 left in the third quarter to cap a 10-play, 55-yard drive and bring Tulane within 21-17, and Yulkeith Brown gave the Green Wave the lead for good when he scored on a 9-yard jet sweep on the first play of the fourth quarter. Pratt and Brown had connected on a 29-yard pass earlier in the drive to set up Brown's scoring run.

Memphis had faced an early 10-0 deficit as the Tigers struggled out of the gate. But quarterback Seth Henigan threw touchdown passes to cap three successive drives, including a 10-yard strike to Koby Drake that gave the Tigers a 21-10 lead.

Freshman Makahi Hughes rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries for Memphis, while Chris Brazzell had 103 receiving yards on three catches.

Henigan registered his 13th career game with at least 300 passing yards as he went 24-of-43 for 321 yards and three touchdowns. But a pair of interceptions proved costly, leading to 14 Tulane points. The Tigers had a pair of 100-yard receivers as Roc Taylor and Demeer Blankumsee both had 108 yards.
