The Temple Owls' volleyball team improved to 13-7 overall on the season with a 25-14, 25-15, 25-13 sweep of non-conference opponent, Rider (5-14) on Wednesday night in McGonigle Hall. Freshman setter Lexi Yoza had a career-high five service aces in the victory, while senior outside hitter Taylor Davenport led all players in the match with 11 kills.
Davenport's 11 kills now give her 972 for her career. Temple's nine service aces was the second most of by the team this season to the season-high 14 earlier this season. The Owls dominated the match, allowing just two leads to the Broncs. The Cherry and White's 10 team blocks, marks the eighth time this season the team recorded double-figures. Junior Chelci Banks, freshman Olivia Hummel, and senior Chudear Tut tied for a match-high three blocks.
