10.23.23

Filip Jauk scored the first Charlotte hat trick since 2016 as the Charlotte 49ers trounced visiting Johnson & Wales (N.C.), 7-0, in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at Transamerica Field.

Jauk, who picked up his first career three-goal game, is the first Niner to score three goals in a single game since Brandt Bronico against UAB on October 22, 2016. Logan Frost assisted on two Jauk goals and Natsuki Ogata scored twice for his first career brace.

Taking a 2-0 lead into halftime, Charlotte (9-2-1) exploded in the second half to the tune of five goals and 17 shot attempts. Defensively, Sebastian Cutler-DeJesus recorded two saves and earned the win as he and the Niners only faced three shots from the Wildcats (12-1-3), who suffered their first loss of the season.
