IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the weekly women’s soccer honors for the final week of the regular season.
Offensive Player of the Week
Mya Jones, 5th, F, Memphis
Jones recorded a brace as she scored the only goals in the Tigers’ 2-0 win over Tulsa on Thursday night. She scored three minutes into the contest and then again 38 seconds before the halftime horn.
Defensive Player of the Week
Peyton Felton, Jr., D/M, South Florida
Felton helped lead the Bulls to a 2-1 win over Florida Atlantic. Felton and USF only allowed two shots on goal, while the junior also scored the game-winning goal in the 74
th minute to clinch the East Division title.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Eve Beyer, Gr., UAB
Beyer recorded five saves in a Blazer shutout Thursday night against Temple that secured UAB the final spot in the American Women’s Soccer Championship.
Rookie of the Week
Avery Berryman, F, UAB
Berryman scored a goal and provided an assist in the Blazers’ 4-0 win over Temple. The freshman assisted on the first goal of the game in 12
th minute before scoring herself six minutes later.
Weekly Honor Roll
Payton Patrick, Jr., F, Charlotte
Patrick assisted on the game-winning goal against East Carolina on Thursday, then provided an insurance goal for the 49ers.
Sadie Sider-Echenberg, So., M, South Florida
Sider-Echenberg scored the opening goal in a 2-1 win against Florida Atlantic to clinch the East Division crown.
Nyah Rose, Fr., F, SMU
Rose scored the game-winning goal against North Texas in the 47
th minute on Thursday night.
Sasjah Dade, Jr., D, UTSA
Dade tallied the game-winning goal in the 54
th minute and aided the Roadrunner defense to a shutout of Rice on Thursday.
Jasmine Kessler, Fr., GK, UTSA
Kessler recorded four saves in a 2-0 shutout of Rice on Thursday night.
