The Memphis Tiger men's soccer team pick up a 1-0 win over No. 9 Missouri State on Wednesday night. The Memphis recorded its first win over a top-10 team this season, and first since defeating No. 10 SMU 3-2 in overtime on October 9, 2021.
The Tigers struggled to find opportunities to put the ball on-goal tonight, getting a look from Logan Longo in the opening 45 minutes.
On the defensive end, Memphis would hold Missouri State to four shots on goal in the first half while JD Gunn would make one save to keep it a 0-0 game through the first 45'.
Memphis would take the lead in the 65' as Giorgos Kondylis hit a rocket to the left upper 90, the Tigers' second shot in the match.
Missouri State held possession for most of the match, however the Memphis defense held strong keeping a clean sheet.
