North Texas, Rice, South Florida and SMU all earned road conference victories on Friday night in American Athletic Conference volleyball action.  North Texas defeated UAB 3-0, Rice took down Memphis 3-1, South Florida swept UTSA and SMU beat Charlotte 3-0.  East Carolina and Wichita State both came away with home sweeps, defeating Tulane and Temple, respectively, while Florida Atlantic protected their home court with a 3-1 win over Tulsa in Boca Raton.
