SAN ANTONIO - Frank Harris, the seventh-year quarterback who was playing in his final regular-season home game, accounted for a school-record 523 yards and six touchdowns as UTSA took a 49-21 win against South Florida Friday night at the Alamodome.

The win was the seventh consecutive victory for UTSA, which enters the final week of the regular season at 7-0 in the American Athletic Conference, 8-3 overall. A win against Tulane on Black Friday would send the Roadrunners to the American Championship Game in their first season in the conference. 

Harris, meanwhile, turned in what might have been the best performance of his illustrious career in front of his friendly home crowd. He completed 31 of 46 passes for 411 yards and three touchdowns and had a game-high 112 rushing yards with three TDs on the ground. He became the first NCAA FBS player this season to pass for 400 yards and rush for 100 in the same game and the 15th player in major college football history to accomplish the feat.

Joshua Cephus had nine receptions for 163 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown in the second quarter that broke a 14-14 tie and gave the Roadrunners a lead they would not relinquish. It was the third TD pass of the game for Harris, who did the rest of his damage on the ground to help UTSA build a 42-14 lead late in the third quarter.

The Roadrunners finished with 643 yards of offense and gained 31 first downs.

South Florida quarterback Byrum Brown traded blows with Harris through the early-going and completed 23 of 39 passes for 287 yards and a TD. Wide receiver Sean Atkins had 10 catches for 92 yards for the Bulls, who fell to 5-6 overall and 5-6 in The American. The Bulls face Charlotte next Saturday with a chance to gain bowl eligibility in their first season under head coach Alex Golesh.
