Memphis and Tulane picked up home victories in American Athletic Conference men's basektball action on Friday, November 17.

Tulane 92, Sacramento State 57 - Box Score
NEW ORLEANS (AP) Sion James had 21 points in Tulane's 92-57 win over Sacramento State on Friday night.

James was 8 of 10 shooting, including 3 for 5 from 3-point range, and went 2 for 4 from the line for the Green Wave (3-0). Kevin Cross scored 17 points, going 5 of 8 and 6 of 6 from the free throw line. Jaylen Forbes shot 5 for 9, including 3 for 6 from beyond the arc to finish with 14 points, while adding three steals.

Duncan Powell led the way for the Hornets (1-3) with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Austin Patterson added 11 points for Sacramento State. Zee Hamoda also had seven points and two steals.

Memphis 92, Alabama State 75 - Box Score
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) David Jones had 22 points in Memphis' 92-75 victory against Alabama State on Friday night.

Jones added 10 rebounds and three steals for the Tigers (3-0). Jahvon Quinerly scored 16 points while shooting 6 for 9, including 3 for 5 from beyond the arc, and added eight rebounds. Jaykwon Walton had 12 points and was 4-of-9 shooting, including 1 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 3 for 5 from the foul line.

CJ Hines led the way for the Hornets (1-3) with 19 points, four assists and three steals. Antonio Madlock added 16 points, four assists and two steals for Alabama State. D'ante Bass also had 14 points, six rebounds and three steals.

LSU 66, North Texas 62 - Box Score
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) Will Baker scored 16 points, Derek Fountain had 14 and LSU snapped a two-game skid with a 66-62 win over North Texas on Friday in the Charleston Classic.

Jordan Wright added 12 points for the Tigers.

Fountain's bucket gave LSU (2-2) the lead for good with just over four minutes left with the Tigers closing the game on a 10-5 run. Baker's short jumper and Mike Williams III's two free throws in the final minute gave the Tigers a seven-point lead UNT (2-2) couldn't overcome.

Jason Edwards had four 3-pointers, made all eight of his free throws and finished with 22 points for the Mean Green. Rubin Jones had 15 points and John Buggs III had four 3-pointers and 14 points.

Jones hit a 3-pointer with nine minutes left for a four-point lead but the Mean Green made only 2 of 15 shots from that point, including five 3-point misses, while the Tigers made six of their last nine, all from inside the arc.

There were 22 lead changes in the game with LSU's seven-point lead in the final minute the largest. LSU shot 50% and outscored UNT in the paint 36-10. The Mean Green was 12 of 32 from 3-point range and shot just 32% overall.

LSU, which lost to Dayton 70-67 in the tournament’s first round, will play Wake Forest for fifth place on Sunday while North Texas, a 53-52 loser to St. John’s in its opening-round game, gets Towson in the seventh-place game.

Texas State 72, UTSA 62 - Box Score
SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) Christian Turner had 19 points in Texas State's 72-62 victory against UTSA on Friday night.

Turner added five rebounds for the Bobcats (2-2). Brandon Love scored 18 points and added 14 rebounds and four blocks. Josh O'Garro was 4 of 8 shooting and 4 of 7 from the free throw line to finish with 13 points, while adding six rebounds and three steals.

The Roadrunners (1-3) were led in scoring by Christian Tucker, who finished with 16 points. Dre Fuller Jr. added 13 points for UTSA. Chandler Cuthrell also had nine points and 10 rebounds.

Liberty 83, Wichita State 66 - Box Score
CONWAY, S.C. (AP) Kyle Rode put up 31 points as Liberty beat Wichita State 83-66 in a semifinal of the Myrtle Beach Invitational on Friday night.

Rode added five rebounds for the Flames (4-0). Colin Porter scored 13 points while shooting 4 for 8 from beyond the arc. Kaden Metheny had 12 points.

Xavier Bell led the Shockers (4-1) in scoring, finishing with 24 points, nine rebounds and two steals. Colby Rogers added 16 points for Wichita State.
