SMU Sweeps Weekly Volleyball Honors

IRVING, Texas The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly volleyball awards for the week ending Sunday, November 19.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Naya Shime, Sr., OH, SMU
Shime helped the Mustangs win the American Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship with a pair of wins over North Texas. Shime averaged 4.42 points per set and 3.83 kills per set for the Mustangs, including a 13-kill, 11-dig double-double in the second match against the Mean Green.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Emma Clothier, Gr., MB, SMU
Clothier finished with 1.17 blocks per set in the middle for SMU, as the Mustangs won The American conference title outright with two wins over North Texas. She opened the weekend with a five-block performance to sweep the Mean Green.
 
Weekly Honor Roll
 
Arianna Beckham, So., OH/RS, Florida Atlantic
Beckham had 10 blocks and 8 digs in a win over South Florida.
 
Autumn Flynn, Fr., MB, Memphis
Flynn helped the Tigers earn a pair of wins, averaging 3.75 points per set and 1.00 blocks per set.
 
Emilia Weske, Gr., RS, Rice
Weske finished with a pair of double-double for the Owls in the series against Wichita State.
 
Buse Hazan, So., OH, South Florida
Hazan helped the Bulls clinch the East Division Championship with a split against Florida Atlantic, averaging 4.43 points per set.
 
Avery Kalsu, Sr., S, Tulsa
Kalsu paced the Golden Hurricane, averaging 11.29 assists per set in a pair of wins against Tulane.
