Four Teams from The American Earn Monday Wins

Four American Athletic Conference men's basketball teams earned wins on Monday, November 20.

East Carolina 82, Georgia Southern 64 - Box Score
GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) Quentin Diboundje scored 27 points as East Carolina beat Georgia Southern 82-64 on Monday night at the TowneBank Holiday Classic hosted by the Pirates.

RJ Felton scored 19 points and added eight rebounds for the Pirates (3-2).

The Eagles (0-5) were led in scoring by Mannie Harris, who finished with 17 points and two steals. Jamar Franklin added 16 points and two steals for Georgia Southern. Tyren Moore also had eight points.

UTSA 89, Houston Christian 87 - Box Score
HOUSTON (AP) Dre Fuller Jr. scored 24 points as UTSA beat Houston Christian 89-87 on Monday night.

Fuller was 8 of 15 shooting, including 3 for 7 from 3-point range, and went 5 for 5 from the line for the Roadrunners (2-3). Christian Tucker scored 15 points and added five rebounds and eight assists. Carlton Linguard finished 5 of 9 from the field to finish with 10 points, while adding six rebounds.

The Huskies (0-3) were led in scoring by Marcus Greene, who finished with 23 points. Jay Alvarez added 19 points for Houston Christian. In addition, Michael Imariagbe had 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Tulsa 90, South Carolina State 70 - Box Score
TULSA, Okla. (AP) PJ Haggerty had 28 points in Tulsa's 90-70 victory against South Carolina State on Monday night.

Haggerty added five rebounds for the Golden Hurricane (4-0). Jared Garcia scored 23 points while going 7 of 12 from the floor, including 3 for 6 from 3-point range, and 6 for 10 from the line, and added eight rebounds. Carlous Williams had 10 points and was 3 of 4 shooting and 4 of 7 from the free throw line.

Drayton Jones led the Bulldogs (2-3) in scoring, finishing with 19 points, eight rebounds and two steals. South Carolina State also got 14 points from Michael Teal. Mitchel Taylor also had 12 points and six assists.

SMU 70, West Virginia 58 - Box Score
FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) Zhuric Phelps scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and SMU pulled away midway through the second half to beat West Virginia 70-58 on Monday night in the Fort Myers Tip-Off.

SMU (4-1) took the lead for good on a Chuck Harris step-back jumper with 10:54 remaining that sparked a 22-8 run. Eight players scored for SMU during the stretch that included Ricardo Wright's two 3-pointers and Keon Ambrose-Hylton's six points as the Mustangs stretched their advantage to 68-55 with 2:50 to play.

Wright and Harris scored 12 points apiece and Ambrose-Hylton had 10 for SMU, which shot 60% (18 of 30) from the floor and grabbed 22 of its 33 rebounds in the second half.

Jesse Edwards scored 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting to lead West Virginia (2-2). Quinn Slazinski made three 3s and finished with 13 points. The Mountaineers shot 26% (7 of 27) from the floor in the second half and 37% (20 of 54) overall.

UCF 74, Charlotte 71 (OT) - Box Score
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (AP) Ibrahima Diallo had a go-ahead layup with 16 seconds remaining in overtime after Jaylin Sellers' grabbed Diallo's missed free throw and UCF rallied for a 74-71 victory over Charlotte at the Jacksonville Classic on Monday night.

UCF (4-1) will play George Mason in the championship game on Tuesday. Charlotte (3-2), which won its only previous meeting with UCF, will play South Dakota State in the consolation final earlier Tuesday.

Darius Johnson led the Knights with 25 points, adding six rebounds and three steals. Sellers hit three 3-pointers, scoring 19 with five of his six rebounds coming on offense. Diallo finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots.

Lu'cye Patterson led the 49ers with 21 points and four assists before fouling out. Igor Milicic Jr. had 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jackson Threadgill scored 11.

Charlotte took a 26-22 lead into halftime, but the Knights battled back and used two free throws by Johnson with 11 seconds remaining to knot the score at 59-all and force overtime.

Both teams shot under 43% overall and under 30% from 3-point range, but UCF made 19 of 24 foul shots while Charlotte sank 11 of 16. The Knights had a 15-7 advantage in second-chance points.

Bradley 80, Tulane 77 - Box Score
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (AP) Malevy Leons' 18 points helped Bradley defeat Tulane 80-77 at the SoCal Challenge on Monday night.

Leons also contributed four steals for the Braves (4-0), who will play either UTEP or California for the Surf Division title on Wednesday. Darius Hannah scored 14 points while finishing 6 of 7 from the floor, and added six rebounds. Duke Deen shot 4 for 12 (1 for 7 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free throw line to finish with 13 points.

The Green Wave (3-1) were led by Jaylen Forbes, who posted 17 points and two steals. Kevin Cross added 14 points, eight rebounds and two steals for Tulane. Sion James also had 14 points, six rebounds and two steals.
