IRVING, Texas – American Athletic Conference volleyball champion SMU earned a No. 7 seed in the 2023 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship on Sunday night during the NCAA Volleyball Championship Selection Show on ESPN.
 
SMU (25-6) earned the No. 7 seed and will travel to Austin, Texas to take on Texas State in the first round on Thursday, November 30 at 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT on ESPN+. The winner will face the winner of No. 2 Texas and Texas A&M. It marks the third appearance in the tournament for the Mustangs and the first since 2016.
 
The Mustangs finished conference play with are riding an 18-1 record in The American and enter the tournament riding a 15-match winning streak, including nine straight sweeps.
