American Women's Basketball Picks Up Nine Wins On Opening Night

Oklahoma 92, Wichita State 68 - Box Score
Wichita State went into halftime with a four-point lead over Oklahoma State, but was outscored 35-11 in the third quarter to fall into a deficit. DJ McCarty scored 19 points, while Tre'Zure Jobe scored 16 points for the Shockers.

UAB 70, Alabama A&M 63 - Box Score
Mia Moore scored 27 points on 11-of-14 shooting to lead UAB to a seven point win over Alabama A&M.  She added six rebounds in 34 minutes of action. The Blazers shot 43.9 percent from the floor for the game.

Temple 109, Delaware State 43 - Box Score
The Owls scored 100 points for the first time since 2015 as eight players reached double-digits.  Jaleesa Molina led all scorers with 16 points off the bench.  The Owls shot 53.8 percent from the floor and 38.7 from behind the arc.

SMU 78, UC Riverside 55 - Box Score
Four players reached double-digits for the Mustangs, led by Tiara Young's 20 points.  Ella Brow added 10 points off the bench as the Mustangs shot 51.8 percent from the floor.

Tulane 68, Stetson 57 - Box Score
Kyren Whittington led the Green Wave with 16 points as she was one of four Tulane players to score in double figures.  Hannah Pratt finished with 11 points and 8 rebounds in the win.

East Carolina 68, Elon 37 - Box Score
The Pirates never trailed Elon as Preseason American Player of the Year Danae McNeal scored 20 points, while Amiya Joyner added 16. East Carolina finished with 20 steals and forced 31 turnovers.

Tulsa 89, Lindenwood 80 - Box Score
Delanie Crawford and Temira Poindexter combined for 64 of the Golden Hurricane 89 points. Crawford scored 35, while Poindexter scored 28. Tulsa went 21-for-30 at the charity stripe.

South Florida 76, UT Arlington 61 - Box Score
The Bulls led the entire game, with Daniela Gonzalez leading the Bulls with 16 points and six rebounds.  South Florida held UTA to just 31 percent from the floor.

North Texas 117, UNT Dallas 42 - Box Score
North Texas set a program record 117 points in head coach Jason Burton's debut. The Mean Green shot 58.2 percent from the floor, inclduing 40 fast break points and 61 points off the bench.

Arizona State 70, UTSA 55 - Box Score
The Roadrunners fell to Arizona State 70-55 in Tempe.  Maya Linton and Idara Udo both scored 10 points for UTSA. The Roadrunners shot just 15 percent from behind the arc and 34 percent from the floor.

Middle Tennessee 67, Memphis 47 - Box Score
Only one player reached double-figures for the Tigers as Madison Griggs scored 12 points.  Memphis shot 26 percent from the floor, 18 percent from deep and 45 percent from the free throw line.

Rice 70, Houston Christian 38 - Box Score
The Owls held Houston Christian to just five first half points, including just one point in the first quarter. Dominique Ennis led Rice with 14 points.
