The Tulsa women cruised to an 82-45 victory over the Texas Southern Lady Tigers Friday night in front of 1,153 fans at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
 
Ahrray Young led all scorers with 15 points, followed by 14 from Temira Poindexter and Mady Cartwright and 13 from Delanie Crawford.
 
Tulsa shot 50 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from behind the arc, while limiting the visitors to under 25 percent overall and 13 percent from three-point range. The Hurricane had a 51-to-39 advantage in rebounding and also a 42-to-20 edge for points in the paint.
 
Tulsa had 33 points from the bench, led by Cartwright's 14 while fellow freshman Elise Hill added a season-high nine points.
 
The Hurricane had a 15-point lead after one quarter and expanded its lead to 33 points at halftime, 52-19. Tulsa outscored the Lady Tigers 23-8 in the first 10 minutes and 29-11 in the second period.
 
After Texas Southern outscored Tulsa 15-13 in the third period, the Hurricane turned the tables in the fourth with a 17-to-11 scoring advantage. Tulsa had its largest lead of 42 points when Cartwright scored on a driving layup for a 76-34 lead with 6:12 remaining in the contest. Tulsa kept its lead above 35 points for until the final buzzer.
