Four American Teams Earn Friday Wins

Four American Athletic Conference men's basketball teams picked up wins on Friday, December 29.

Tulane 94, Dillard 64 - Box Score
NEW ORLEANS (AP) Jaylen Forbes and Kolby King scored 22 points apiece to propel Tulane to a 94-64 victory over Dillard on Friday.

King added 10 rebounds, while Forbes had three steals for the Green Wave (9-3). Sion James scored 13 with five rebounds.

Jamey Sanders hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 off the bench to lead the Blue Devils. Armond Williams had 12 points and blocked three shots.

South Florida 73, Alabama State 70 - Box Score
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) Chris Youngblood had 26 points in South Florida's 73-70 win against Alabama State on Friday night.

Youngblood made a pair of free throws that gave the Bulls the lead for good, 69-68, with 1:23 remaining. Youngblood added two more free throws to cap the scoring with 10 seconds to play. CJ Hines and Sean Smith each missed a 3 for Alabama State to end it.

Youngblood also contributed three blocks for the Bulls (7-4). Selton Miguel scored 14 points, shooting 5 for 13, including 4 for 7 from beyond the arc. Jayden Reid was 3-of-6 shooting and 6 of 6 from the free-throw line to finish with 13 points.

Hines led the way for the Hornets (4-8) with 14 points. Antonio Madlock added 12 points and two steals for Alabama State. In addition, Micah Octave finished with 11 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. Smith and Kendal Parker also added 11 points apiece for the Hornets.

Tulsa 95, Southwestern Oklahoma State 54 - Box Score
TULSA, Okla. (AP) PJ Haggerty's 21 points helped Tulsa defeat Division II Southwestern Oklahoma State 95-54 on Friday night.

Haggerty was 7-of-10 shooting and 6 of 8 from the free-throw line for the Golden Hurricane (9-3). Tyshawn Archie scored 17 points and added five rebounds. Jesaiah McWright was 4-of-5 shooting, including 2 for 3 from 3-point range, and went 6 for 7 from the foul line to finish with 16 points.

The Bulldogs were led by Jalen Johnson, who posted 14 points. Southwestern Oklahoma State also got 12 points from Jacore Williams. Denali Alexander also had 10 points, seven rebounds and two steals.

UAB 90, UNC Asheville 85 - Box Score
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) Yaxel Lendeborg scored 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as UAB defeated UNC Asheville 90-85 on Friday night.

Eric Gaines scored 20 points and added seven assists and three steals for the Blazers (8-5). Javian Davis added 16 points.

Drew Pember finished with 30 points, six rebounds and three blocks for the Bulldogs (8-7). UNC Asheville also got 14 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks from Nicholas McMullen.

Stetson 79, Charlotte 75 - Box Score
DELAND, Fla. (AP) Jalen Blackmon scored 34 points to spark Stetson to a 79-75 victory over Charlotte on Friday night.

Blackmon shot 14 for 25, including 4 for 11 from beyond the arc for the Hatters (8-6). Alec Oglesby scored 17 points while shooting 7 for 11, including 3 for 7 from beyond the arc. Stephan D. Swenson had 13 points and shot 3 for 9 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 6 of 6 from the free throw line.

The 49ers (6-6) were led by Igor Milicic Jr., who recorded 22 points, nine rebounds and two steals. Dishon Jackson added 19 points for Charlotte. In addition, Lu'Cye Patterson finished with 14 points, six rebounds and four assists.

East Tennessee State 86, East Carolina 70 - Box Score
GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) Jaden Seymour scored 24 points as East Tennessee State beat East Carolina 86-70 on Friday night.

Seymour added six rebounds and three blocks for the Buccaneers (8-5). Quimari Peterson added 21 points while going 8 of 16 (3 for 5 from 3-point range), and he also had five assists. Karon Boyd had 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Brandon Johnson finished with 19 points, nine rebounds and four steals for the Pirates (7-6). RJ Felton added 17 points, seven rebounds and two steals for East Carolina. Ezra Ausar also had 12 points and eight rebounds.
