GREENVILLE, N.C. – Trey Yesavage continued his stellar start to the season Friday night, tossing a career-high 7.1 scoreless innings to propel No. 10 East Carolina past Missouri State 3-0 in a non-conference series opener at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium.
The Pirates (14-4) handed the Bears (11-6) their first shutout loss since May 2, 2021 and registered their first shutout of an opponent since a 10-0 win over UCF back on April 15, 2022.
Yesavage (3-0) was absolutely dominant in producing his fourth quality start of the season, holding Missouri State's powerful offense to just four hits while matching his career-high strikeout total of 11. Wyatt Lunsford-Shenkman extended his scoreless inning streak to 12 innings in relief, throwing the final 1.2 frames and striking out three against no walks. Brandt Thompson took the loss, yielding a lone run on four hits with a walk and five strikeouts.
Seven different ECU batters recorded a hit in the contest as Justin Wilcoxen delivered a pair of huge RBI in the eighth inning via a two-run bomb to center. Spencer Nivens tallied two hits to pace the visitors' offensive efforts.

ORLANDO -- Five Knights hit home runs as UCF defeated Dartmouth, 16-1, Friday at John Euliano Field.
Nick Romano hit a 3-run shot in the third to break open the game, while Lex Boedicker also hit a 3-run shot in the fifth. In the sixth, John Rhys Plumlee hit a solo shot before Drew Faurot launched a grand slam. In the eighth Ryan Tayor hit a solo shot.
Ruddy Gomez earned the win, striking out 12 in six innings with only one run allowed.

TAMPA (March 17, 2023) – John Montes demolished the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the ninth inning on Friday night for a walk-off home run as the University of South Florida Bulls (7-12) overcame a six-run deficit for an 8-7 victory over Army West Point (6-9) at USF Baseball Stadium.
South Florida trailed Army, 7-1, heading to the bottom of the sixth inning before the Bulls' offense came alive for their fourth comeback win of the season.
Bobby Boser, who missed the previous two games with a back/rib injury, sparked the rally with a two-out triple in the sixth inning. Daniel Cantu followed with a two-run homer to make it a 7-3 ballgame. Drew Brutcher and Ben Rozenblum extended the inning with singles, and Travis Sankovich followed with USF's fifth straight hit to make it a 7-4 affair.
Cantu came up clutch again in the bottom of the seventh with a two-out two-run double to cut Army's lead to 7-6. Eric Snow tied the game in the eighth on a fielder's choice that saw Rozenblum beat a throw to the plate with a headfirst slide. Montes led off the ninth and jumped on the first pitch of the inning for the walk-off blast as the Bulls scored seven unanswered runs in the comeback victory.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Houston Baseball senior starting pitcher Maddux Miller shined in the Cougars' 3-2 series-opening win against Minnesota on Friday evening at the U.S. Bank Stadium.
Miller (2-0) pitched a career-high 6.2 shutout innings for the Cougars (6-11) with five strikeouts while earning his second win of the season. In his first career start, Miller held batters to only three hits including only one extra-base hit. Graduate transfer Braden Forsyth earned his first save for the Cougars, pitching 2.1 innings with two strikeouts. With runners at a premium, Minnesota's (3-16) Tucker Novotny (0-2) tossed 7.0 innings but was saddled with the loss.
Houston limited Minnesota to 1 for 9 (.111) with two outs and did not permit a hit with runners aboard (0 for 9). Cougar leadoff hitters reached in 3 of 9 opportunities (.333).
Memphis 4, Southeastern Louisiana 3 -

HAMMOND, La. – The University of Memphis baseball team defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 4-3, in a back-and-forth game at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field on Friday night. Left-hander JT Durham pitched three perfect innings of relief to earn the win and Dalton Kendrick pitched the ninth to pick up his fifth save of the year.
With the win, Memphis improved to 10-8 on the season and won its second in a row. The Lions dropped to 11-7 on the season with the loss.
A two-out single by Tyler Heckert in the top of the fourth inning evened things up at one run apiece, as RJ. Jimerson came in to score. Austin Baskin singled to right field in the top of the fifth to drive in Cameron Benson, again with two outs, to even things back up at 2-2.
Third baseman Logan Kohler led off the sixth inning with a tomahawk solo shot to right field to tie the game once again at 3-3. It was the first run in the game for either team not scored with two outs in the inning. Kohler gave the Tigers the lead his next time at-bat on a sac-fly to right field that drove in Anthony Hansen, making the score 4-3.
Durham entered the game in the sixth in relief of starter David Warren. Durham pitched three perfect innings to earn the win, striking out two Lions. Kendrick entered for a one-two-three ninth to close out the win for the Tigers.

NEW ORLEANS – Columbia's pitching staff recorded 17 strikeouts and allowed just three runs on four hits to defeat host Tulane 7-3 Friday evening on Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
The Lions advanced to 6-7 on the season, while the Green Wave tumbled to 3-15.
Columbia reliever Will Parkinson (2-0) got the win, yielding just one hit and one walk with six strikeouts in three and two-thirds innings. Starter Andy Leon pitched into the fifth inning and whiffed nine Tulane players against three hits and five walks while allowing five runs.
