Houston's Arnold, East Carolina's Spivey Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the ninth week of the season.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Zach Arnold, Jr., 3B, Houston
Arnold aided the Cougars to a series win against South Florida by hitting .667 (10-15) with eight runs scored and eight RBI. He recorded a hit in every game this week and extended his streak of reaching base to 32 games. The junior third baseman went 4-for-4 in the second game of the series with the Bulls with four runs scored and two doubles.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Carter Spivey, Sr., East Carolina
Spivey earned the win in Saturday’s 10-0 win over Cincinnati by pitching a complete-game 7-inning shutout. The senior scattered four hits and did not issue a walk while striking out three Bearcat batters.
 
HONOR ROLL
Andrew Sundean, So., C, UCF
Sundean hit .467 (7-15) with four runs scored, three home runs and six RBI as the Knights went 3-1 last week, including a series win over Memphis.
 
Josh Moylan, Jr., 1B, East Carolina
Moyland helped lead the Pirates to a 4-0 week, including a sweep of Cincinnati, by hitting .467 (7-15), with seven runs scored, three home runs and nine runs batted in.
 
Bobby Boser, So., UTL, South Florida
Boser led the conference with five home runs last week, finishing with a .438 (7-16) batting average, eight runs scored and eight RBI.
 
Jack Cebert, So., P, South Florida
Cebert threw 7.1 innings with only one earned run, three hits allowed, no walks and five strikeouts in Sunday’s 13-2 win at Houston.
 
Chuck Ingram, Jr., OF, Wichita State
Ingram hit .556 (10-18) with eight runs scored, six extra-base hits (four doubles, two home runs) and five RBI in four contests for the Shockers, including a series win at Tulane.
