UCF 7, Stetson 6 - Box Score
ORLANDO – Trailing by three runs entering the eighth inning, the Knights rallied to erase the deficit, topping Stetson in their second matchup this season 7-6 Tuesday evening at John Euliano Park. Sophomore Cole Russo had the game-tying RBI, while Tom Josten drew a bases-loaded walk to complete the comeback and walk it off for the Knights.

The late rally is the second consecutive contest that the Knights erased a deficit late in the game to secure the win, coming back from a five-run deficit against Memphis on Sunday.

Catcher Ben McCabe went 5-5, marking the second time this season he has connected on five hits in a game. Adding five at-bats, McCabe moves into 10th place in career at-bats in UCF history with 739, surpassing Tyson Auer, who had 738 at-bat from 2005-08.

Down by just one run in the ninth inning, the Knights came to the plate at the top of the order. McCabe reached first on an infield single and Andrew Sundean reached on an error by the third baseman to put runners on first and second with one out. Cole Russo smashed a single up the middle to score Corey Robinson, who pinch-ran for McCabe, knotting the score at 6-6. With the bases loaded and the count full, Josten drew ball four to give the Knights the win.

For the first time since 2015, the Knights won with a walk-off walk and improved their overall record to 21-16 on the season while the Hatters fall to 21-17.

Wichita State 10, Kansas State 4 - Box Score
MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Wichita State launched six home runs in a game for the first time in 25 years and got six scoreless innings from the bullpen, knocking off Kansas State 10-4 on Tuesday night at Tointon Family Stadium.

The win snaps an eight-game losing streak for the Shockers in Manhattan, giving WSU their first victory at Tointon Family Stadium since the 2012 season. The six round-trippers are the most for the Shockers in one game since April 26, 1998 against Indiana State.

The Shockers (21-15) wasted little time breaking out the power bats in the top of the first. Chuck Ingram doubled on the first pitch of the game, and Brock Rodden followed with a drive to deep right that was destined for a two-run homer before Kansas State right fielder Cash Rugely leaped to make the catch above the wall. One batter later, Payton Tolle delivered the two-run homer anyway, slamming a blast down the right field line for a 2-0 lead.

After the Wildcats (24-15) halved the lead on an RBI double from Kaelen Culpepper in the bottom of the inning, Wichita State went right back to work with three home runs in the third inning. Rodden clubbed a solo shot over the scoreboard in right field, and two pitches later Garrett Pennington mashed a solo homer of his own that made it 4-1. After Mauricio Millan kept the inning alive with a two-out single, David Herring punctuated the inning with a towering opposite-field blast for a 6-1 advantage.

All six runs came against Kansas State starter Jackson Wentworth (1-4), who was tagged for eight hits in three innings of work.

Pennington ballooned the lead to 9-1 in the fourth, lining his second home run of the game over the wall in dead-center off Kansas State reliever Mason Buss.

Tulane 8, New Orleans 6 - Box Score
NEW ORLEANS – Visiting Tulane scored seven runs in the first three innings against host New Orleans and held on the rest of the way to register an 8-6 victory over the Privateers Tuesday evening at Maestri Field.

The Green Wave improved to 11-26 overall, while the Privateers dropped to 21-16.

Tayler Montiel (1-0) picked up his first-ever win, hurling three scoreless innings in relief, with two strikeouts and two walks. Gavin Smith recorded his first-ever Division I save, allowing a hit with a strikeout in the ninth frame.

UNO's Connor Macip (1-1) took the loss, giving up three runs on two hits with one strikeout and one walk.

Tulane right fielder Jacob LaPrairie drove in three runs and first baseman Brady Marget added two more as both had two-run homers in the top of the first inning. Catcher Brennan Lambert went 2-for-4 at the plate, while he, LaPrairie and third baseman Simon Baumgardt scored twice.

Shortstop Kasten Furr had the big hit for UNO, a three-run blast to left in the second inning. First baseman Anthony Herron, Jr. had two hits and, like Furr, catcher Jorge Tejada scored twice, as well.

The Privateers answered Tulane's early offense with four runs of its own in the bottom of the second to grab a 5-4 lead but that's when the Green Wave went to work. In the top of the third, LaPrairie tied the game with a double to right and Lambert scored the go-ahead tally on a wild pitch. Second baseman James Agabedis made it 7-5 Wave when he knocked in LaPrairie with a single up the middle.

UNO cut the margin to one with a run in the sixth inning, but Lambert's single to right center in the top of the seventh accounted for the game's final margin.

Houston 13, Houston Christian 7 - Box Score
HOUSTON – Senior outfielder Brandon Uhse's grand slam highlighted the Houston baseball team's 13-7 win over Houston Christian on Tuesday night at Schroeder Park.

The Cougars (21-16) tied a school record of four double plays turned in the game while also stealing six bases. Freshman reliever Braedyn Cunningham (1-0) tossed 3.0 innings allowing only one run and earned the win for his first decision of the season. Daniel Farrow (0-2) threw 0.2 innings for HCU (8-24) and earned the loss.

The Cougars turned four double plays in the game to tie the single-game school record. It has been achieved nine other times and last against Baylor in 2017. The Cougars have turned multiple double plays in 12 games this season as well as turning 3+ in back-to-back games.

Zach Arnold and Justin Murray extended their reached-base streaks to 33 straight games. Arnold has reached base in every single game he has played in while Murray has found his way on base in every game since his second Cougar appearance.

North Florida 10, South Florida 0 (7 innings) - Box Score
JACKSONVILLE (April 18, 2023) – The University of South Florida (16-22) was shutout for the first time in over a month on Tuesday night as the University of North Florida Ospreys (20-16) blanked the Bulls, 10-0 in seven innings.

South Florida entered the tilt averaging over 10 runs a game on offense over its last six ballgames. Rafael Betancourt and Travis Sankovich had two hits apiece for the Bulls. A pair of Osprey pitchers combined on the four-hit shutout.

North Florida jumped out to an early lead with a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back. The Ospreys added four runs in the third, one more in the fourth and two runs in the sixth inning.

East Carolina 6, Charlotte 2 - Box Score
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – No. 7 East Carolina picked up its ninth-straight victory Wednesday night, knocking off Charlotte 6-2 at Truist Field.

The Pirates (29-8) improved to 5-5 on the road in limiting the 49ers' (19-17) offense to just five hits. Both teams left eight runners on base.

Danny Beal (3-1) was credited with the win in relief, throwing three scoreless innings with six strikeouts. AJ Wilson (0-1) took his first loss of the campaign after surrendering two runs in just 0.1 frames.

Carter Cunningham and Justin Wilcoxen both clubbed home runs as part of two-hit efforts while Wilcoxen drove in three runs and Joey Berini finished with two RBI. Blake Jackson paced the home side with a run scored, hit and RBI off a solo home run in the sixth.

Cunningham put East Carolina on the front foot in the top of the first, drilling the first pitch he saw 413 feet over the wall in left center to make it 1-0. Root followed the blast up with a shutdown frame in the home half, retiring Charlotte in order with a strikeout and two groundouts.

The 49ers threatened in the bottom of the second, loading the bases without the benefit of a hit (two walks and a hit batter). However, Root dug in and got Nolan to swing and miss on an 0-2 count to keep the Pirate lead intact. Charlotte finally broke through in the bottom of the third, using a Jake Cunningham RBI double to knot the score at one.

Wilcoxen gave ECU the lead for good with two outs in the top of the fourth, launching a three-run homer to right center after Cam Clonch singled to lead off the inning and Makarewicz was hit by a pitch with one out. Berini then added some big insurance in the fifth, lacing a two-run single up the middle to score Makarewicz and Luke Nowak from second and third respectively.
