The game was played before the second-largest crowd in facility history as 5,997 fans filed through the gates to take in the affair.
The Pirates (21-8) hit a season-high six home runs of which three were off the bat of Jacob Jenkins-Cowart – the first ECU player to smash a trio of home runs in a single game since Corey Kemp did it at Houston all the way back on March 22, 2008. The Wolfpack (20-9) next head to Winston-Salem for a highly-anticipated Atlantic Coast Conference series at No. 2 Wake Forest.

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Wichita State used a pair of big home runs to sprint to a 7-0 lead and never looked back, defeating #16 Oklahoma State 13-6 on Tuesday night at O'Brate Stadium.
The win is the Shockers first in Stillwater since 2018 and snaps an eight-game losing streak against the Cowboys.
A native Oklahoman helped the Shockers land the first punch of the game. In the top of the first, Payton Tolle cranked a towering two-run home run down the right field line, staking Wichita State (17-11) to a quick 2-0 advantage against Oklahoma State starter Ryan Bogusz (0-1).
Three innings later, the Shockers exploded for five runs against the Cowboys bullpen. Kyte McDonald started the barrage with an RBI single, scoring Mauricio Millan for a 3-0 lead. With two outs, Jack Little was hit by a pitch and Chuck Ingram coaxed a walk to set the stage for Brock Rodden with the bases loaded. On the first pitch he saw from reliever Brennan Phillips, Rodden skied a drive to dead-center that carried just beyond the wall for a grand slam and a 7-0 lead.

HOUSTON – Sophomore outfielder Cameron Nickens secured his second walk-off hit in the last week to surpass Rice 14-13 in the first game of a season-long match-up of the Silver Glove Series on Tuesday night at Schroeder Park.

Sophomore outfielder Malachi Lott then quickly laid down a sacrifice bunt in front of the pitcher to move McMillan to second base before junior third baseman Zach Arnold was sent down the line as the Owls intentionally walked Houston's number two batter. On a 2-1 count, Nickens connected with the ball sending it just over the Owls pitcher's head allowing McMillan to cross home plate and score the final run of the game.
