Houston's Murray, Wichita State's Tolle Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the penultimate week of the regular season.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Justin Murray, Jr., UTL, Houston
Murray aided the Cougars to a 3-1 week and maintained first place in The American’s standings by hitting .556 (10-18) with six runs scored, one double, one home run and seven RBI for the week. He also earned a win and a save from the mound in two relief outings during a sweep over Tulane.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Payton Tolle, So., Wichita State
Tolle struck out 10 batters while only allowing two runs and four hits in Saturday’s 9-2 win over South Florida.
 
HONOR ROLL
Nick Romano, R-Sr., 1B, UCF
Romano hit .556 (10-18) with nine runs scored, five extra-base hits (one double, one triple and three home runs) and five runs driven in five games last week.
 
Cameron Leiter, Fr., P, UCF
Leiter struck out 11 batters in 5.1 innings of work, earning the win in a 12-4 win at Cincinnati on Saturday.
 
Danny Beal, Jr., P, East Carolina
Beal earned the win in two relief appearances for the Pirates over the weekend against Memphis, only allowing one hit with six strikeouts in 5.1 scoreless innings.
 
Carter Cunningham, Jr., OF, East Carolina
Cunningham hit .750 (9-12) with six runs scored and had multiple hits in all four Pirate wins last week.
 
Brock Rodden, Jr., INF, Wichita State
Rodden hit .500 (9-18) with five runs scored, two home runs and seven RBI in four games for the Shockers.
