IRVING, Texas – East Carolina and Tulane are headed to the NCAA Baseball Championship, as the bracket was released on Monday, May 29.
Tulane (19-40), the winner of the 2023 American Baseball Championship presented by Visit St. Pete Clearwater, is headed to the Baton Rouge Regional as the No. 4 seed in the regional and will take on LSU (43-15), the No. 5 overall seed for the Championship on Friday, June 2 at 2 p.m. ET on ESPNU. Sam Houston (38-23) and Oregon State (39-18) will also compete in the regional and meet Friday night at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
The Green Wave became the lowest seed (No. 7) to win the American Baseball Championship, taking the championship game, 8-6, against East Carolina on Sunday, May 28 in Clearwater, Fla. It is Tulane’s 22nd appearance at an NCAA Regional and its first since 2016.
East Carolina (45-17), the American Athletic Conference regular season champion, is traveling to the Charlottesville Regional, and will face Oklahoma (31-26) on June 2 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The Pirates will be the No. 2 seed in the regional. Army West Point (38-16) will take on the No. 7 overall seed for the tournament Virginia (45-12) earlier in the day at noon ET on ESPN+.
The Pirates will make their 33rd overall and fifth-consecutive NCAA Regional appearance. ECU hosted Virginia in the 2022 Greenville Regional and traveled to Charlottesville for a regional in 2016.
