All nine American Athletic Conference men's soccer teams kicked off the 2023 season on Thursday, August 24 highlighted by No. 21/25 FIU's 2-1 win over (RV) Oregon State in Corvallis, Oregon. Gradute student Tyler Hogan finished with six saves in the goal, including turning away a crucial penalty kick to keep the Beavers from tying the game. No. 19/18 SMU was also in action, defeating UTRGV in Dallas 2-1, while Florida Atlantic was in an offensive dual, overcoming a 2-0 deficit to defeat Lipscomb 6-4 in Nashville.

American teams will be back in action on Sunday, August 27 as Memphis travles to Northern Illinois for a 3:30 p.m. start, while Florida Atlantic will head to Belmont and South Florida takes on Seattle. Both of those contests will begin at 7 p.m. ET. No. 16/20 Tulsa will host UTRGV at 8:30 p.m.
