BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Quarterback Jacob Zeno completed 38 of 41 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns to lead UAB to a 35-6 win against North Carolina A&T Thursday in the Blazers' first game as an American Athletic Conference member at Protective Stadium.

Zeno's 92.6% completion rate goes down as the fourth-most-efficient showing by an American Athletic Conference player in league history. He completed 20 consecutive passes at one point helping to make a winner of first-year head coach Trent Dilfer in the former NFL quarterback's collegiate coaching debut.

Zeno completed passes to 13 different receivers, while running back Jermaine Brown Jr. rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns as the Blazers finished with a 458-163 advantage in total offense and a 31-12 edge in first downs.

UAB scored on three of its four first-half possessions to take a 21-3 lead into halftime.

Linebacker Jackson Britton led the UAB defense with 12 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.
