Behind a combined 30 kills from Avery Luoma and Taylor Davenport, the Temple Owls pulled out their second five-set win of the season on Wednesday against the Princeton Tigers, 25-23, 25-23, 14-25, 22-25, 15-10.
The Owls improved to 7-2 overall on the season while the Tigers dropped to 2-5.
Against her former team, the graduate transfer Luoma earned her ninth career double-double with season-high 15 kills and 14 digs. Davenport matched Luoma for the Temple-high of 15 kills. It was the sixth time in seven matches, the Columbia, S.C. native tallied a double-figure kill match. Fellow graduate transfer Olivia Vance had a breakout game with 11 kills. The Owls bookended the match with a team hitting percentage above .300. Temple hit .310 in the first set and exploded to hit .556 in the final set.
