The Charlotte 49ers men's soccer team played a stellar 90 minutes of soccer to triumph 2-0 on the road and hand Davidson its first loss of the season Wednesday evening (Sept. 20) in men's action.
Charlotte, which improves to 3-1-1 on the season, knocked off Davidson (4-1-1) thanks to goals from Brad Dildy and Brigham Larsen, as well as excellent defense from the Niners' back line and keeper Leonard Stritter, who had a season-high three saves, including a late penalty save to preserve the second consecutive shutout for CLT.
Dildy capitalized on a mistouch by a Davidson player and then expertly juked and weaved through four Wildcats before sending a fine shot past the Davidson keeper for the 29th-minute goal.
