American Athletic Conference volleyball teams began conference play on Wednesday night, which included three of the six new members earning their first American Athletic Conference wins. North Texas defeated Florida Atlantic 3-0, UTSA defeated Charlotte 3-0, and Rice took down UAB 3-0. Across the league, there were a total of six sweeps including SMU over Memphis, Wichita State over East Carolina and Tulsa over Temple. South Florida and Tulane were the lone match to go five sets, with the Bulls taking the victory in Tampa.
Conference action will resume on Saturday, September 23 as all 14 teams will be in action. North Texas will travel to Tulane to begin the day at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN+, while Wichita State will host Charlotte to end the day at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
