Five teams in The American improved to 2-0 in conference volleyball play on Saturday, including North Texas and South Florida both earning their second straight sweep to open league play. The Mean Green swept Tulane in New Orleans, holding the Green Wave to a .162 hitting percentage on the night. Anyse Smith and Jayde Harris led North Texas with nine kills each. South Florida swept Memphis in Memphis, as the Bulls hit .308 for the afternoon. Buse Hazan had a monster performance, earning a career-high 21 kills in the win. The Bulls remain the last undefeated team in the East Division, while North Texas, Rice, SMU and Wichita State are all 2-0 in the West Division.
The same matchups will take place on Sunday with matches starting at 1 p.m. ET as UAB hosts East Carolina and Florida Atlantic hosts Temple. The full schedule can be found
