IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly cross country awards for the week ending Sunday, September 3.
 
Men’s Athlete of the Week
Nick Scudder, Sr., Charlotte
Scudder helped lead the 49ers to a second-place team finish at the Charlotte Opener to begin the 2023 season.  Scudder took him first place in the 5k with a time of 14:42.7.  He finished atop a field of 52 total athletes that included 6^th-ranked North Carolina.
 
Women’s Athlete of the Week
Gemma Rebollo, Jr., Tulane
In her first race at Tulane, Rebollo took home first-place at the New Orleans Opener in the 4k race by nearly two seconds with a time of 13:42.97. Her individual title helped the Green Wave finish in first place as a team, defeating LSU in the process.
