SMU 75, East Carolina 64 - Box Score
GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) Zhuric Phelps scored 17 points as SMU beat East Carolina 75-64 on Saturday night.
Phelps added three steals for the Mustangs (11-5, 2-1 American Athletic Conference). Chuck Harris scored 14 points and added eight assists. Jalen Smith had 10 points.
Ezra Ausar finished with 25 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks for the Pirates (9-8, 2-2). RJ Felton added 15 points, six rebounds and two steals for East Carolina and Cam Hayes had 12 points.
SMU took the lead with 18:05 left in the first half and did not relinquish it. Phelps led the team in scoring with eight points in the first half to help put them ahead 37-28 at the break. SMU outscored East Carolina in the second half by two points, with Harris scoring a team-high 10 points after halftime.
North Texas 69, Temple 51 - Box Score
DENTON, Texas (AP) Jason Edwards' 16 points helped North Texas defeat Temple 69-51 on Saturday night.
Edwards shot 6 for 15, including 3 for 10 from beyond the arc for the Mean Green (10-5, 3-0 American Athletic Conference). Aaron Scott scored 15 points and added seven rebounds. C.J. Noland had 14 points and was 5 of 10 shooting, including 2 for 3 from 3-point range, and went 2 for 3 from the line.
Joran Riley led the Owls (8-9, 1-3) in scoring, finishing with 13 points and seven rebounds. Jahlil White added 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals for Temple.
Charlotte 66, UTSA 58 - Box Score
SAN ANTONIO (AP) Igor Milicic Jr.'s 19 points helped Charlotte defeat UTSA 66-58 on Saturday night.
Milicic was 7 of 11 shooting, including 3 for 7 from 3-point range, and went 2 for 4 from the line for the 49ers (9-7, 3-1 American Athletic Conference). Dishon Jackson added 17 points while going 7 of 11 and 3 of 5 from the free throw line, and he also had five rebounds. Isaiah Folkes and Nik Graves both added 10.
The Roadrunners (7-10, 1-3) were led in scoring by Jordan Ivy-Curry, who finished with 20 points. PJ Carter added 13 points for UTSA.
