IRVING, Texas - Former UTSA linebacker Trey Moore has been chosen to the 2023 Academic All-America football team as selected by College Sports Communicators.

Moore, the 2023 American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, had 45 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, a school-record 14 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 2023. He additionally holds a 3.81 grade-point average as a management major.

Moore becomes the 22nd American Athletic Conference player to earn Academic All-America status since the league's formation in 2013. He gives UTSA an Academic All-America honoree for the third consecutive season.
