South Florida 89, UTSA 72 - Box Score
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) Kobe Knox had 18 points in South Florida's 89-72 win over UTSA on Saturday night.
Knox had five rebounds and four blocks for the Bulls (13-5, 6-1 American Athletic Conference). Jose Placer scored 16 points while going 6 of 9 (4 for 6 from 3-point range). Chris Youngblood had 15 points and shot 5 for 9, including 4 for 6 from beyond the arc.
Jordan Ivy-Curry led the Roadrunners (8-13, 2-6) in scoring, finishing with 23 points. PJ Carter added nine points for UTSA. Massal Diouf also recorded eight points and six rebounds.
South Florida took the lead with 17:36 remaining in the first half and never looked back. Youngblood led his team in scoring with 11 points in the first half to help put them up 44-30 at the break. South Florida pulled away with a 9-0 run in the second half to extend a 15-point lead to 24 points. They outscored UTSA by three points in the final half, as Placer led the way with a team-high 11 second-half points.
Charlotte 75, Tulane 71 - Box Score
NEW ORLEANS (AP) Lu'Cye Patterson hit four free throws in the final 23 seconds to allow Charlotte to fend off Tulane 75-71 on Saturday night.
Igor Milicic Jr. scored 22 points and also added 13 rebounds for the 49ers (13-7, 7-1 American Athletic Conference). Lu'Cye Patterson added 14 points while shooting 4 for 11 (2 for 6 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free throw line, and he also had six rebounds. Dishon Jackson was 3 of 6 shooting and 7 of 9 from the free throw line to finish with 13 points. It was the seventh win in a row for the 49ers.
The Green Wave (12-8, 3-5) were led by Kevin Cross, who recorded 16 points and five assists. Tre' Williams added 15 points for Tulane. In addition, Sion James had 11 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.
Nik Graves led Charlotte with 11 points in the second half as their team was outscored by five points over the final half but held on for the victory.
Tulsa 85, Rice 81 - Box Score
HOUSTON (AP) PJ Haggerty scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half to help Tulsa fend off Rice 85-83 on Saturday night.
Haggerty added five rebounds for the Golden Hurricane (11-8, 2-5 American Athletic Conference). Cobe Williams added 19 points while shooting 5 for 8 (3 for 5 from 3-point range) and 6 of 10 from the free throw line, and he also had five rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Jared Garcia was 5 of 9 shooting (3 for 6 from 3-point range) to finish with 13 points.
Mekhi Mason led the Owls (7-13, 1-6) in scoring, finishing with 19 points, seven assists and three steals. Travis Evee added 15 points for Rice. Max Fiedler also had 14 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and two steals.
