Memphis men's soccer hands No. 9 Charlotte its first loss of the season thanks to a goal from Adam Yousfi.
With the win, the Tigers improves to 6-4-1, moving into first place in the AAC standings with a 3-0-0 record in conference, while Charlotte falls to 6-1-3 and 2-1-0 in AAC play.
In a match between two defensive squads, Memphis secured the victory thanks in part to a deflection off of a Charlotte defender that led to the lone goal of the night.
After a dull first half, the Tigers quickly found themselves in a strong attacking position. Gabriel Christensen slid up the right-hand side past his defender and found Adam Yousfi in the box. Yousfi's shot caromed off the leg of a 49er defender and found the back of the net. It was just the sixth goal allowed all season by Charlotte goalkeeper Leonard Stritter.
