East Carolina, Memphis, South Florida Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the weekly women’s soccer honors for the eighth week of the season.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Michaela Hill, So., M, South Florida
Hill scored a brace in the Bulls’ 4-0 win over UAB on Thursday night in Tampa. The sophomore tallied in the 29th and 54th minutes.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Lucy Fazackerley, So., D, East Carolina
Fazackerley helped lead the Pirate defense to a 1-0 shutout win at Tulsa on Thursday by only allowing four shots on goal. The sophomore also scored the game-winning goal in the 24th minute.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Maeve English, Gr., East Carolina
English recorded a clean sheet by saving four shots as the Pirates defeated Tulsa on the road, 1-0, on Thursday.
 
Freshman of the Week
Ai Kitagawa, M, Memphis
Kitagawa scored the game-winning goal in the 55th minute of Memphis’ 2-1 win over Charlotte on Thursday.
 
Honorable Mention
Emma King, Fr., M, North Texas
King scored the game-tying goal in the 86th minute of a 2-2 draw against UTSA on Thursday.
 
Leah Chancey, Gr., M, Rice
Chaney scored a goal in a 4-0 win over Temple on Thursday. Chancey has now scored in eight consecutive matches, the NCAA’s longest current streak.
 
Faith Hutchins, Gr., GK, Rice
Hutchins made four saves in a clean sheet performance in Rice’s 4-0 win over Temple on Thursday.
 
Gentiana Fetaj, Jr., M, South Florida
Fetaj scored a goal and added an assist in the Bulls’ 4-0 win over UAB on Thursday.
 
Jordan Walker, Sr., F/M, UTSA
Walker scored a goal for the Roadrunners in a 2-2 draw with North Texas on Thursday.
