Fueled by a career-high 30 points from Hayleigh Breland, Charlotte Women's Basketball bounced back with an 83-67 win over the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs.
Thursday night was all about Hayleigh Breland for the Charlotte 49ers. The junior guard notched a new career-high with 30 points on 12-19 shooting, including making six of her eight threes.
Breland's 30 points was the headline for Charlotte's box score. Kelly's 12 points and nine rebounds were another big factor along with making six of her seven free throws. Charlotte shot 45% from the field (27-60) and 39.1% from three-point range (9-23).
Charlotte out-rebounded Gardner-Webb 37-35 while holding the advantage in points in the paint (32-24), second chance points (17-13), and bench points (27-18). Green and Jordan Peete each had three steals as the team totaled 14. DeeDee Shephard and Kelly both had two blocks.
