Memphis 76, Charlotte 52 - Box Score
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Jahvon Quinerly scored 17 points as Memphis beat Charlotte 76-52 on Wednesday night.
Quinerly also contributed six assists and three steals for the Tigers (19-8, 8-6 American Athletic Conference). Nae'Qwan Tomlin added 16 points while going 4 of 7 from the floor, including 1 for 3 from 3-point range, and 7 for 8 from the line, and he also had seven rebounds. David Jones had 10 points and shot 3 for 5 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free throw line.
The 49ers (17-9, 11-3) were led in scoring by Igor Milicic Jr., who finished with 16 points. Robert Braswell added 13 points for Charlotte. Dishon Jackson also had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Rice 94, UAB 71 - Box Score
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) Mekhi Mason had 19 points in Rice's 94-71 victory against UAB on Wednesday night.
Mason also added six rebounds and six assists for the Owls (10-16, 4-9 American Athletic Conference). Andrew Akuchie added 18 points while shooting 7 of 8 from the field and 4 for 4 from the line, and they also had five rebounds. Keanu Dawes was 5 of 7 shooting (3 for 3 from 3-point range) to finish with 13 points.
Yaxel Lendeborg finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Blazers (17-9, 9-4). Efrem Johnson added 13 points for UAB. Javian Davis also recorded 10 points, eight rebounds and two steals.
Rice took the lead with 12:34 remaining in the first half and never looked back. The score was 49-24 at halftime, with Mason racking up 13 points.
South Florida 66, UTSA 61 - Box Score
SAN ANTONIO (AP) Selton Miguel's 17 points off of the bench helped lead South Florida to a 66-61 victory against UTSA on Wednesday night.
Miguel also added six rebounds for the Bulls (20-5, 13-1 American Athletic Conference). Chris Youngblood scored 15 points while going 6 of 14 from the floor, including 2 for 7 from 3-point range, and 1 for 3 from the line. Kasean Pryor was 3 of 9 shooting and 6 of 8 from the free throw line to finish with 12 points, while adding 10 rebounds. It was the 12th victory in a row for the Bulls.
The Roadrunners (8-19, 2-12) were led in scoring by Christian Tucker, who finished with 15 points and six assists. Chandler Cuthrell added 10 points and 10 rebounds for UTSA. In addition, Carlton Linguard had 10 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. The Roadrunners prolonged their losing streak to seven in a row.
South Florida went into halftime leading UTSA 32-30. Miguel scored eight points in the half. Youngblood put up 10 second-half points and South Florida secured the victory after a second half that had eight lead changes and was tied three times.
Wichita State 79, Tulsa 63 - Box Score
WICHITA, Kan. (AP) Colby Rogers had 19 points in Wichita State's 79-63 victory over Tulsa on Wednesday night.
Rogers shot 4 for 11 (2 for 6 from 3-point range) and 9 of 9 from the free throw line for the Shockers (11-16, 3-11 American Athletic Conference). Kenny Pohto scored 16 points and added seven rebounds. Bijan Cortes shot 3 of 5 from the field and 4 for 5 from the line to finish with 11 points.
The Golden Hurricane (13-13, 4-10) were led by PJ Haggerty, who posted 24 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Tulsa also got 14 points and two steals from Tyshawn Archie. Isaiah Barnes also recorded 10 points and three steals.
Wichita State took the lead with 9:15 remaining in the first half and did not relinquish it. The score was 43-26 at halftime, with Rogers racking up 11 points. Wichita State extended its lead to 57-32 during the second half, fueled by a 10-0 scoring run. Rogers scored a team-high eight points in the second half as his team closed out the win.
