DENTON, Texas (AP) Rubin Jones and Jason Edwards both scored 18 points as North Texas beat East Carolina 84-69 on Sunday.
Jones also added six assists for the Mean Green (16-12, 9-7 American Athletic Conference). Edwards shot 6 of 14 (4 for 11 from 3-point range). Robert Allen had 16 points and shot 7 of 9 from the field.
The Pirates (14-15, 7-9) were led by Brandon Johnson, who posted 14 points and eight rebounds. RJ Felton added 14 points for East Carolina. In addition, Jaden Walker had 11 points.
Memphis 106, UAB 87 - Box Score
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) David Jones scored 32 points as Memphis beat UAB 106-87 on Sunday night.
Jones added nine rebounds and three steals for the Tigers (22-8, 11-6 American Athletic Conference). Nae'Qwan Tomlin added 28 points while going 11 of 15 from the floor, including 1 for 3 from 3-point range, and 5 for 6 from the foul line, and they also had seven rebounds. Jahvon Quinerly had 25 points and shot 6 for 14 (3 for 5 from 3-point range) and 10 of 14 from the free-throw line.
The Blazers (18-11, 10-6) were led by Alejandro, who recorded 18 points. Eric Gaines added 17 points, eight assists and two steals for UAB. In addition, Efrem Johnson had 14 points.
Jones scored 24 points down the stretch in the second half to help lead Memphis to a 19-point victory.
