IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the 10th week of the regular season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Carson Bayne, Jr., OF, Charlotte
Bayne hit .600 (9-15) for the week, scoring eight runs with four home runs and eight runs driven in as the 49ers went 3-1 last week, including a sweep in conference play over Memphis. The junior hit three home runs in Charlotte’s win on Saturday, and also hit one against No. 5 Clemson on Tuesday.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
C.J. Williams, Jr., Florida Atlantic
Williams pitched a nine-inning complete-game shutout against Tulane on Friday night. The junior scattered five hits and two walks while striking out five batters.
HONOR ROLL
Ryley Johnson, Jr., OF, East Carolina
Johnson hit .562 (9-16) with seven runs scored, a triple, a home run and five runs driven in as the Pirates went 4-0, including a sweep of Wichita State.
Trey Yesavage, Jr., East Carolina
Yesavage struck 15 Wichita State batters over 6.2 innings with three runs allowed in Friday’s series-opening win.
Treyton Rank, Jr., 1B, Rice
Rank hit .581 (8-14) with four runs scored, three doubles, one home run and eight runs driven in as the Owls swept South Florida.
Alexander Olivo, Sr., 1B/DH, UTSA
Olivo hit .462 (6-13) with the two runs scored, two doubles and four RBI in a 3-1 week for the Roadrunners.
Teo Banks, Jr., OF, Tulane
Banks hit .400 (4-10) with five runs scored, two home runs and four RBI as the Green Wave earned a series win at Florida Atlantic.
