UAB's Brown, East Carolina's Yesavage Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the eighth week of the regular season.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brayton Brown, Gr., OF, UAB
Brown helped lead the Blazers to a series win over Tulane and hit .533 (8-15) with five runs scored, three doubles, two home runs and 11 RBI. The graduate student drove in the five runs in the first game against Green Wave.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Trey Yesavage, Jr., East Carolina
Yesavage pitched seven scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts in the Pirates’ series-opening 4-1 win at Florida Atlantic on Friday.
 
HONOR ROLL
Carter Cunningham, Sr., INF, East Carolina
Cunningham hit .421 (8-19) with five runs scored, two extra-base hits and five RBI as the Pirates earned a series win over Florida Atlantic and defeated NC State on the road for the first time since 2009.
 
Jake Curtis, Sr., P/INF, Memphis
Curtis came on in relief in three Tiger games, earning the win in two of them and the save in the other. He also helped the Tigers win at Ole Miss and sweep Rice with a home run against the Rebels and scored the eventual winning run in Saturday’s win over the Owls.
 
Matt Rose, So., INF, South Florida
Rose hit .583 (7-12) with three runs scored and two runs driven in as the Bulls went 3-1, including a sweep of Wichita State.
 
Ulises Quiroga, Sr., P, UTSA
Quiroga allowed one run and struck out seven in six innings in the Roadrunners’ series-clinching win against Charlotte on Sunday.
 
Hector Rodriguez, Jr., INF, UTSA
Rodriguez hit .615 (8-13) with five runs scored and five runs driven in as the Roadrunners went 3-1.
