No. 3 Tulane Takes Down No. 6 Florida Atlantic, 14-2, at 2024 American Baseball Championship presented by Regions

CLEARWATER, Fla. – No. 3 Tulane defeated No. 6 Florida Atlantic, 14-2 in seven innings, in the fourth game of the 2024 American Baseball Championship presented by Regions on Tuesday afternoon, May 21 at BayCare Ballpark.
 
With the win, the Green Wave (32-24) advance to the winner’s bracket and will face Charlotte on Thursday, May 23, 47 minutes after the East Carolina/Wichita State game at 1 p.m. Eastern. Florida Atlantic (26-28) will take on UTSA in an elimination game on Wednesday, May 22, 47 minutes after the UAB/Rice game at 1 p.m. Eastern.
 
Connor Rasmussen led off the game with a home run to right giving the Green Wave a lead they would not relinquish. Eight Tulane starters scored, while four had multiple hits.
 
Michael Lombardi scored three times, while Rasmussen recorded three hits and Jackson Linn drove in four runs on a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth inning.
 
Chandler Welch (7-3) earned the win for Tulane, striking out 10 batters in five innings of work with two runs allowed.
 
C.J. Williams (5-5) took the loss, allowing seven runs in 2.2 innings.
