IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the 12th week of the regular season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Daunte Stuart, Sr., INF, Memphis
Stuart hit .500 (7-14) with five runs scored, two home runs and four runs driven in as the Tigers went 3-1 last week, including a series win at Tulane. The senior registered a pair of multi-hit games and hit safely in all four contests last week.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Braxton Shelton, So., UAB
Shelton threw a 7-inning 1-hit shutout against Florida Atlantic on Saturday. The sophomore allowed one hit and only issued one walk while striking out three batters.
HONOR ROLL
Tyler Harrington, Jr., INF, UAB
Harrington hit .500 (6-12) with three runs scored, three doubles, one home run and five RBI in four games for the Blazers, including a series win at Florida Atlantic.
Noah Furcht, Jr., INF, Charlotte
Furcht helped lead the 49ers to a series win over Rice by hitting .400 (6-15) with two doubles and four RBI in four games last week.
Justin Wilcoxen, Sr., C, East Carolina
Wilcoxen hit .444 (4-9) with two home runs as the Pirates earned a series win over South Florida.
Trey Yesavage, Jr., P, East Carolina
Yesavage struck out 11 batters in a 7-inning complete game performance in an 11-1 win over South Florida on Friday.
Caden Favors, Sr., P, Wichita State
Favors pitched his second complete game of the season, allowing two runs (one earned) in an 11-2 win over UTSA on Saturday.
