MONROE, La. – The UAB football team (1-1) suffered a 32-6 loss at Louisiana-Monroe (2-0) on Saturday night at Malone Stadium.

Despite ULM only outgaining UAB by 37 yards (296-259), the Warhawks had 209 yards on the ground and used a safety and a pick-six in the second half to break the game open.

Jacob Zeno was 22-of-32 for 167 yards but was under pressure all night long as ULM tallied five sacks and nine TFL. Lee Beebe Jr. led the team in rushing (62) and receiving (35).

Defensively, Sirad Bryant had a career-high 13 tackles while Everett Roussaw Jr. tied his career high with 10.

The two teams traded field goals for the only points of the first quarter, but ULM blocked a punt right at the end of the first and turned that into seven points three plays later on a 16-yard rush for a 10-3 lead with 14:10 left in the second quarter.

Following his career long 46-yarder, UAB kicker Jonah Delange connected on a 26-yarder midway through the second quarter to make the score 10-6, and ULM would cap the scoring with three seconds left with a 37-yard field goal for a 13-6 halftime lead.

A UAB defensive stop on ULM's first drive of the second half gave the ball back to the Blazers at their own 4-yard line. However, two plays later Beebe Jr. was tackled in the end zone for a ULM safety which gave the Warhawks a 15-6 lead.

The Warhawks' lead expanded to 22-6 with 4:52 left in the third on a 4-yard rushing touchdown, and a pick-six early in the fourth gave ULM a 23-point lead and put the game out of reach.
