Memphis Opens Conference Play with Win over Shockers

Memphis women's basketball led after every quarter on Wednesday afternoon, cruising to a 93-83 victory over Wichita State inside Elma Roane Fieldhouse in the first conference game of the season.
  
With the win, the Tigers (3-9, 1-0 AAC) are 1-0 in conference play for the first time since the 2011-12 season and the first time as a member of the AAC. 

DeeDee Hagemann logged a career-high 12 assists to go with 16 points, the first time a Memphis player has logged a double-double with 10 or more assists since 2016. Tilly Boler had her seventh 20-point game of the season, matching her career-high 25 points. 

Alasia Smith also had a double-double behind 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Elauna Eaton hit a career-high five three-pointers to add 15 points to the Tigers' highest scoring day of the season.
